Birkey’s highly-experienced technicians service and rebuild hydraulic cylinders for all makes and sizes of equipment. A new, full-service cylinder repair shop is equipped with the latest technology for the assembly and disassembly of cylinders. A Tuxco HCS-40 Hydraulic Cylinder Servicer supplies up to 40,000 pounds of torque to break cylinder nuts, and 14,000 pounds of torque to pull cylinders apart.

“Once repaired, the cylinder is torqued back up to specification,“ noted Clay Berner, service manager. “We perform these services very competitively and have the customer back up and running again quickly,” added Berner.

A flat-rate fee for a basic resealing gives you a quick estimate of the cost before the job starts. The cylinder will be disassembled and examined. If all you need is a simple reseal, you'll be billed at the quoted cost, plus the price of a reseal kit. If damage to a piston, rod or cylinder tube is found, a repair cost quote is provided so you can decide how best to ensure continued production from that cylinder.

Quick estimates and rush service are also available. Utilizing Birkey's shuttle service to transport equipment for a simple repair, a cylinder can be sent in Monday night, repaired at the rebuild center in Mattoon and returned later that week.
